On 3rd February, 2014, Research Center in Energy and Environment, Faculty of Science, Thaksin University, led by Profess. Dr. Chomphop Weawsak signed in the cooperation in the energy development with Sakol Energy Co., Ltd. in finding the guidelines for the cooperation in conducting the research and assessing the wind power potential particularly in the area of Thepha District, Songkhla Province having the representatives from both agencies to join signing in the Memorandum of Agreement for wind power research and development. In the part of Thaksin University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wichai Chamni, Rector of the University, and Assoc. Profess. Kasem Assavatrirattanakul, Deputy Rector for Education and Research and in the part of Sakol Energy Co., Ltd. consisting of Mr. Chatchai Sumethchotemetha, Managing Director and Mr. Shindit Surakratsakul, Business Development Manager, joined in signing. The executives and staff members of the Research and Development Institute were witnesses. The details of cooperation for energy research could be briefly summarized that Sakol International Co., Ltd. would support in research funding for wind energy development for the research team of Thaksin University in the research framework with mutual agreement to develop and research the wind power in the period of 18 months starting from 10th February, 2013, to 10th August, 2015.
